What is BBL Liposculpture in the Dominican Republic?
BBL Liposculpture, also known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, is a cosmetic procedure that combines two techniques in a single surgery: the removal of localized fat through liposuction and the transfer of that purified fat to the buttocks to provide greater projection, volume, and shape.
This procedure not only enhances the buttocks naturally, but also sculpts the silhouette by reducing areas where fat is more difficult to remove, such as the abdomen, waist, back, or thighs. The result is a more harmonious and attractive body contour, with a defined figure from every angle.
Who qualifies for BBL Liposculpture in the Dominican Republic?
Dr. Guarocuya Almánzar evaluates each patient individually during the consultation, but BBL Liposculpture is usually ideal for those who:
- Have localized fat deposits that do not improve with diet or exercise.
- Have good skin elasticity, which allows for a more natural result.
- Want to define and shape their figure by removing fat from specific areas.
- Are looking to increase the volume and projection of the buttocks with a harmonious and safe result.
What should I know and expect from BBL Liposculpture in the Dominican Republic?
Before the procedure
To ensure the best results, the surgeon will recommend discontinuing 20 days before the procedure the use of medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as aspirin, vitamin E, and ginseng. In addition, tobacco, alcohol, and ginger tea should be avoided. It is also important to inform the specialist if you are taking any other medication or if you have experienced any health issues, such as fever or diarrhea, in the days leading up to the procedure.
During the procedure
The procedure can be performed with local anesthesia, sedation, or spinal anesthesia. Through small incisions of approximately 2 mm, placed in less visible areas, the necessary cannulas are inserted both to infiltrate and to remove the excess fatty tissue. This achieves a harmonious shaping of the silhouette. More than the amount of fat removed, what truly matters is performing a controlled and safe extraction, which preserves the proper functioning of the organs and promotes a faster, healthier recovery.
After the procedure
The patient remains hospitalized for between 12 and 24 hours. Afterwards, the use of a postoperative compression garment is recommended for approximately 35 days, as it supports the healing process, helps reduce swelling, and contributes to skin retraction. Recovery is further enhanced with lymphatic drainage massages, ultrasound therapy, and the application of specific gels to improve skin appearance. Returning to work activities is usually possible within 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure, depending on each case.
